Plant Food Systems, Inc., manufacturer of Kphite 7LP and Sizer XL appreciate the support of our pecan growers. We strive to offer unique and safe products to our customers, say Gary Veal, Technical and Sales Agronomist for the company. There are key attributes that we continue to highlight around Kphite 7LP, says Veal.
- Product safety including the pecan tree and spray equipment. We use the purest active ingredient we can purchase. This enables us to build a safe product. Even at the highest use rates Kphite 7LP is safe. It’s the purest phosphite a grower can purchase.
- Phosphorous acid is the key ingredient that protects from pecan scab. There have been times when growers question the safety of an active ingredient. Kphite 7LP has a neutral pH of 6.9. This is important to product safety to trees and spray equipment.
- Proven efficacy by university and growers.
Veal comments, I look at two main areas that reinforce our positioning and recommendation for Kphite 7LP in pecans. For years we have cooperated with the University of Georgia in trials utilizing Kphite 7LP in fungicide trials. Early use in April and May is well documented in positive data. This data supports up to four sequential sprays, with no other fungicide in the tank. The early use in April and May works very well in establishing a solid foundation for good scab control.
Just as important is what growers say about Kphite 7LP. We’ve never had a customer complaint is six years I’ve been working with Kphite 7LP, says Veal. In fact, what I hear from growers is that the early and sequential applications in April and May get pecan trees off to a good start. Our trees respond and we have good scab control is what growers are saying, according to Veal
Kphite 7LP is “the Only One” that contains a linear polymer chain of phosphite molecules. Veal comments that the chain of molecules enhances product safety and extends the control of scab in pecans. The linear polymer chain of phosphite molecules extends the length of time that Kphite 7LP protects our trees between applications. In early sprays, a 14 day interval gives us good results.
Veal continues. It’s important to know who you are dealing with. Plant Food Systems, Inc., is a company that can be trusted. Our intent is to provide the purest product that will lead to good protection to our pecan trees and is safe for our spray equipment.
