2023 Pecan Conference Season Underway

The season for camaraderie, collaboration and reflection is underway across the southern United states with pecan growers holding their annual meetings to meet and learn.

The Southeastern Pecan growers recently met in southern Alabama for the SEPGA’s 115th annual convention, while the Western Pecan Growers Association is currently holding their 57th annual convention in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

During the month of March the American Pecan Council will be holding an in person meeting on March 21, and then later on March 28-30, the Georgia Pecan Growers Association will hold its annual Conference at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, GA.

Growers are encouraged to attend any and all meetings that might be of interest to them. The meetings are a great place to hear from local pecan experts about projects that are currently underway as well as results from other projects that have been completed.

Everything from growing practices, to the latest shelling technology, to legislation on pecan tariffs is covered and these meetings are a great place to learn and meet with other growers in your area who have likely dealt with the same issues you may be dealing with on your farm.
